To the tune of Beverly Hillbillies (what else???)

Come and listen to my story 'bout a gal named Mo,
A pretty country girl who loved her kitties so.
Then one day she was serving them some food,
And decided that her husband could eat the cat food, too.

Gourmet brand... ice cream dish... tapping spoon brings them running

Ol' hubby came a running when he heard the tapping dish,
Gobbled down his "din din" like a kitty eating fish.
Rolled over on his back and started licking off his paw,
Felt his belly churning - coughed up a huge fur ball.

Strange grooming habits... hairy little critter... nasty habit

Well, Mo nearly died when he spit the hair ball up,
Then whined to her that he hadn't eaten quite enough.
So she served the vacuum cleaner bag with some cooking wine,
Told hubby it was haggis and watched the glutton dine.

Paper clips and dust bunnies... more hair balls... bon appetit

Now Mo is living happy with only cats to feed,
Seems paper clips and haggis made her hubby's stomach bleed.
She's become a vixen living single, free, and wild,
Has a Women's show on PBS replacing Julia Child.

TV star... swimming pools...  cook book signings

Y'all come back... ya hear?

Ahhhhhhh.....now here is a poet with a fantastic sense of humor!!! Care if I borrow this to sing onstage?? (Just kidding!!)
Everybody needs a good laugh, and you provided it with this!!!
               Loved it!!

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it
'the Present'!

I only have one kitty left, and she's enough for me
Wakes me up each morning  'cause she's really missing he
At 5 o'clock she's pawing and tapping at my door
I wish that soon she'd realize he isn't here no more

tired  I am...no rest for the weary...no food for thought

I let her in to stop the whine, almost as bad as him
Waiting for the light of day to wash away the dim
She nuzzles me and wants my touch, now isn't that a shame
Why couldn't it be "man" instead, to play this morning game...

hungry now... kitty to feed...will be back real soon ...

to continue....ya hear?

darn you are fun LngJhnAg ...bet Balladeer was happy you gave him a break, huh?
thank you and yes I smiled the moment I read it.. just needed some time to  have a comeback reply
~~soft thanks and {{hugs}}

Again - thank you all for your grins, especially you, Maureen.  I did edit the poem a little a help the flow, tighten up the story, and build a stronger tie for other women in similar circumstances.  I'm glad you enjoyed, because it was a real hoot to write.
