And they say poets aren't navel gazers.

I love the human body, it so amazes me
but there are some parts that raise my curiosity
for instance take my hairline it changes with each day
and my wrinkles come and go, on my emotions play
it sometimes offends me that, some parts are quite obscene
in particular look at earlobes, now they should not be seen.
I've seen scientific explanations of what my body's worth
and can table all the elements , my body has brought forth
but still my blood's worth bottling and one day when I'm skint
I'll collect a fortune by, cataloguing navel lint.

Explanation skint=broke or poor

For those of you who don't understand Mark's comment I changed the last line for the sake of form. It originally read "figure out what's in navel lint." then I discovered cataloguing after going through a number of alternatives. Isn't poetry fun?

So Marge is flicking boogers
And you're into navel lint.
I guess ear wax is coming next
If someone needs a hint.

The body is a wondrous thing
It's good that you respect it.
I have a ton of navel lint...
Please come by and collect it!!!!!

Anyone who can write about navel lint gets my undying admiration

years ago when I was easily nonplused-
some girls
(late teens- early 20's)
working where I did
(I was 30's) stopped me and said
"Are you an 'in-ey' or an 'out-ey'?"
my puzzlement yielded they were discussing navals! - (I'm an in-ey)
That was also the year I got a naval lint brush for my birthday ~G~
LOVED THIS

Well, if Marge can flick boogers publicly here at Passions, you can certainly pick your navel lint... Anyone for a shower???..

Dee, Thanks for your impression.

Nan, shower?  Nah! Cause then I'd end up with fluid in my ears, or end up wet behind my ears or have to uncover my earlobes.

Be well

Kethry, so you find your bod disgusting,
I guess you'd know it better than we.
But I'd like to confirm it for myself,
Please send lots of pics to me!

You've written a very cute poem here... and your responses are pure Kethry, too.  I've enjoyed it very much.

Michael,
Dee definitely put me up to this. I am so innocent and wouldn't have thought of it by myself *g*.

Rosebud, thanks for your comments. I'm sending you the first batch of catalogued lint through the mail.

LJA Only some parts of my body are disgusting. *Kethry winks pertly, blushes and pulls on her earlobes to show she's ready for romance.* (Bet thats a sign you missed)

Nona, I used to have a baby jumper made out of lint, but it fell apart the first time I washed it, besides it's gotta be better than a hair shirt.

JennE Glad the poem made to laugh, thanks for stopping by.
