we were the best
of friends
when i was a
little girl
she and i
inseparable
and i never
liked to
see her cry
but the tears
they flowed free

and she doesn't
ride her horses
...anymore...
left her boots
behind the door
keeps her dreams
in the board
on the floor
and she never
has fun
...anymore...

and the boys
they used
to chase her
everyone
wanted her hand
if they only
knew her daddy
...then...
...maybe...
...they...
would understand
her life
chosen for her
and we all pray
...for...
...her...

and she used
to be
my friend
and she used
to love
dancing
in the rain
and she never
would complain
every one loved
my dear sweet friend
and i always thought
somehow
she would be there
right up
until the end
and now i see
the grass
isn't really
much greener
over there
and now
i only wish
i still had
my dear sweet
friend..

Julie :)

Never wish for what someone else has....you never really know til you get that glimpse of their everyday reality.  Painful read for one that used to be close to you.  Don't know exactly what it is about for sure but have an idea and looks very dark my friend.

OUCH. So sorry JulieAnn. Painful to watch a friend go through hell, isnt it. No one deserves it, (well, not most people.) All you can do is be there though, it doesnt seem like it will make a difference but it will. Trust me- I know.

Wonderful Julie. . . if we only did know what others went through. . . then maybe we ourselves would be better people. . .

Excellent. . .

Julie,

You want something you think is great and then you get it and you see it is not what it appeared to be.  Life has a way of teaching us to appreciate what we have and not worry about others.  This was very good.

Such a bittersweet beautiful poem to read.  Well written and unique.  Sadly enough, if I were to show this to my closest friends they would say that this was written about me, it touched me and I wish you the best if this was written from experience with your own best friend.

Take care,
