True Love

True love is not forgiving....
it simply accepts,
it smiles in pain,
kisses when hurt,
dances in the rain.

True love is not shouting...
it whispers in silence,
it speaks from the heart,
talks from the eyes,
lips never have to part.

True love is not judgemental...
it listens before reacting,
it hears what is said,
opens heart to tears,
honesty it will not dread.

True love does not hold a grudge...
it forgets harsh words,
it passes them on through,
open to sharing mistakes,
ending in "I love you".

True love does not ask...
it is simply given in faith,
it is accepted in trust,
knows in every little way
what is..simply is a must.

True love "IS" what we have...
it is the ears that listen with the heart,
it is the soul of what we keep pure,
it is the good and the bad
that we must always endure.

No longer will you hear me say...
those three little words "I love you",
as they have been replaced by three more
that say so eloquently what is so very true,
I love "US" is what now makes me soar.

Mark Bohannan

No imagery just felt a need to say it.

"no imagery"?? Oh silly cowboy...the images
you painted were by far the finest you have
penned...there is no picture of love to go
by...it's not something you could paint a
picture of and say..."yep, that's love"  But
beyond a shadow of a doubt I see that you
know love...have felt love and see love.
This is simply perfect Mark...((hugs)) to
you sweet cowboy...I loved it!

True love is>>>> your words are so devine! You've captured the essence of True love, a short summary would be---- actions speak louder than words. But in your case vice versa for your words are so beautiful!

Well, you just wrote, in one page,  what people try to explain in entire books.
Just an excellent poem, Mark.
I think I'll go share this with someone who can read it from your perspective!

I'm not surprised at the splendid write you've penned here...

This poem brings sighs N smiles to my Sunday morning...

I picked up the newspaper this morn and saw a quote "One feeling frees us from the weight and pain of life and that is LOVE"... ain't it so =)
