Every night as the sun goes down
and daylight turns to dusk
I hear the mournful message
in the cicadas song
It tells me of my own true love
and how he's waiting there
Under the stars at the edge
of the woods
Where the crickets play their tune
He waits for me with open arms
to tenderly draw me near
And kiss away the loneliness
of time and miles that keep us apart
A stolen weekend wonder
spent under the starry sky
A chance to touch and taste
and love
A leap of faith, a dare to
win
A love that was meant to be
Written in the cicadas song
And sung endlessly.

Paula

I too would listen to the cicadas sing.  You have written many feelings and they are all beautiful.  I really enjoyed reading this.

Paula~
You've painted a lovely scene.
And I can just hear Serenity and The Cicadas
playing in the background.
Sure puts a smile on my face.

Paula,
This was heart felt. I seem to feel everything you write........distance is so very hard sometimes...they say the heart knows not distance only love........I wish nothing but hapiness for you as thats what you deserve. Thank you also for your comment on my last poem......it ment alot.

There has been talk as of late how a poet can be whomever they please when they write......I always take it for granted we all write what is happening in our lives.......so in case you are a "whomever".... whomever you are when you write....I LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Smiles to you......

If it's meant to be, you can't stop fait.
You will soon hold your love again.

Best wishes, and listen to your dreams.
