I've gotta go
And Where's not how
(It may heed Far or Low)
But When is here
And, Oh, the moon!
So, now

Through foxy fields, resplendent grey
Feet will grow my appetite
Trees a'scatter waters' play
With drowsy purple under-light

There's something here
That once was there (but surely isn't now)
Ago, in years
When love was smeared
Across your smooth and lovely brow

I've gotta go
And When's not how
To home and spoiled airs
Where words broke over the backs of tongues
Still hang their echoes in bitter air.

excellent piece ... will re-read to snatch the meaning behind the meaning (if there is one) ... but for now, this is a great read ...

Written on a bike ride in the middle of midnight after a terrible argument (with the knowledge lurking that I would have to return from the glorious world of summer-slanting fall to a house where the bites were still fresh).
And cummings might indeed have influence, Martie.

Grandiloquent~
A uniquely worded piece of intrigue.
Enjoyed the read ... still working on my interpretation.
