Just a touch upon the lips
A pale pink from fingertips
Just a sip from crystal glass
As we fall in love's crevice

Smoldering fire on cool fall night
Scent of pine in the firelight
Taste of fruit cut fresh and cold
Caress of fingers growing bold

Two hearts beating in solemn sync
Two souls teeter on the chasm's brink
Dare we drink full of wine's passion?
Dare we think we'll fly to Orion?

The kiss of wine won't be denied
Then two lips kiss and cupid cried
For love then felt in all its flower
Without an arrow from his bower

Two aroused people with hearts aflame
Heedless of danger, heedless of blame
Reclining at hearth, locked in embrace
Trusting each other, and in God's grace

This is such a warming poem. There's nothing like a fire in the hearth an a glass of wine. (And a friend, of course). You wrote the sentiments beautifully, as always.
Let's see, how many hat tricks is this?

Liz-

Hat tricks - remind me (no sacriligeous intent here) of that bumper sticker that read: "Jesus Saves - but Esposito scores on the rebound"  Like many here I'm sure I write  out of compulsion - an addiction writing allows me to 'vent' gives me a high at times I can't describe - Without this vehicle - I might be in a straight jacket - Thank you - to you - and all of those who care for this forum -I'm most appreciative

Martie-

Most of whatever I drink comes from the Napa valley ~G~ and the inspiration comes from within these hallowed halls S~

CatalinaMoon -

Thank God for all these things ~S~ and thank you for your kind words

Mr. Yeats, first, I must thank you...

second, I must applaud you....only some of us know how to pronounce some of the words...

A wonderful insight here...
