---Stranger In The Crowd---

The stranger in the crowd
Stays just within my sight.
I never can catch up to her,
Though I try with all my might.

I see her everywhere, it seems,
But do not know her name.
I know her when I see her,
But she’s never quite the same.

Eyes of piercing green one day,
Are golden brown the next.
The cover changes day to day,
But constant is the text.

Her face is always different,
Changing all the while.
But I always know her when she turns,
To ‘Cast a precious smile.’

Finally I stop to rest.
She walks beyond my view.
I worry not, she'll soon be back,
Disguised as someone new.

Some men see things as they are and ask "WHY ?" I see things as they could be and ask "WHY NOT ?"

Oh man, Stranger - This is excellent!!!  It flows, it is profound, it speaks right to the heart of hope and love.  And, it is also playful.  That is a mix that is almost impossible to pull off, and you did it with aplomb.  Incredible theme!  I love it.

LngJhnAg,
Thank you so much for your kind assessment, this was one of the more important poems to me. I wanted to convey what is happening on the "other side" of the chase.

Well, you succeeded, stranger. I could certainly feel what you were feeling when you wrote this piece and you did a wonderful job with it....

I can only hope you are right, if only I could catch one just once    *S*

Balladeer,
Thank you kind sir. If only our words can show our feelings to others, maybe we'll think twice before we do what was done to us....... ahh the potential impact of poerty.

suthern,
Thank you, thank you ....... I am paying special attention to catch some of your pieces

Pauls Finn,

A library add is (to my mind) one of the kindest forms of praise I am honored.
