In this world we live in Families are often mixed These two hers, that one his Its the biggest test of faith I think To take on that word ...step You have to ask and answer honsetly Will I love them as my own Can I share my parent heart With a child I did not concieve Look deep inside before you say yes For its a childs heart you hold And a childs eyes see past the mask To the truth you keep inside This man I love is not alone Its three hearts that I cherish And everyday I love them more These little parts of him And I hope the day might finally come When STEP isnt a part of MOM |

Paula, it is so hard to get passed the bitterness that some kids hold towards a step parent...I hope that you do...keep on keeping on...great poem!! |

Paula..... I want to thank you personally for writing this poem. Trying to be a step-parent is such a huge learning experience. You already have 2 strikes against you, and it's really a hard load on a new relationship. You wrote about it beautifully and in such a way as to shed light on a neglected subject. I thank you!! Today is a gift.... That is why they call it 'the Present'! |

Paula, this is a very sincere and lovely poem. I can imagine this process would be hard for two people. I've never experienced it, but my heart goes out to all the parents that are in this situation. Thanks for shareing. Parker |

Martie...well I truly believe that if you fall for the parent and have done so KNOWING there are children then you have to be willing to love those kids as your own. Thanks. Sunny me twin...I have been on the recieving end of being the step and its no fun always feeling like you arent as good as the other kids. Thats why you HAVE to search your heart...all kids need to be loved for themselves. Coco...I am so glad you agree...I wish I could come up with a title that says more about what this is all about but it eludes me. I just have to hope people choose to read because its me LOL...thanks again Mark...you know what kids mean to me...thank you Michael...I believe if I love long enough and strong enough step will never be a part of this mom...thank you my friend Parker...love the parent love the child...its not like you didnt know they had kids when you started getting serious...so how can you deny the kids and love the parent? If you are honest in your love you cant. |
