(Just a poem - not a double acrostic - make no assumptions please   )

The day that you left the sun left the sky
Everyone that I saw, I wanted to die.
Are lovers still walking the face of the earth
Running and hugging, still filled with mirth?

Frost on my window, frost on my heart
I want to go out but can't seem to start
Lost in a world devoid of all sun
Love took a wrong turn now its on the run
Everywhere that I look a dark and gloom scene
Dour my outlook, nothing is green

Eyes just for you, for I can see no other
You want a friend, but I don't feel a brother
Everything that I see reminds me of you
So tear filled eyes are feeling so blue.

Wilfred~

Tears that fall
Easy from the heart
Are just awaiting the
Returning of a spark

From some enchanted identity
Indelibly written to see
Leaving a mark of its own
Loving thoughts return
Evermore to stay outside
Destined not to hide

Entering when
You think its gone
Eternally raptured suprise
Smiles now fill those eyes

*Thanks for the inspiration, my friend.

Marge-

I'm overwhelmed - I've never had an acrostic response before - Thank you so much

Tears in a man's eyes-
Sign of a tender heart
This acrostic is lovely

Not to be outdone by Marge, my quipping partner, although, I must admit, she is acrostically superior

Who is this man called Mr.Yeats
Of Hi Tech and poetic feats
His luscious phrase well overheats
The forum with erotic sweets

I think he chose the name of Yeats
An acronym that true completes
A portrait filled with unknown treats
That essence of his poem secretes

Y-oung in form, an athlete’s
E-go wrought of bittersweet’s
A- liberal mind among elites
T-hat functions on computer bleeps
S-oftly pulsing to love's beats

Just who is this Mr. Yeats?

Take care
Liz

Yanno, Bill - I really like your poem, and you really nailed it on the acrostic.  But those responses are making my fingers twitch, and you seem like such a nice guy, too - lol.  I'll have to think about this for awhile.  great read, though.  *be still my itching-to-acrosticize fingers*

Bill, I admire your ability to write within discipline, and this piece is all too lovely. I've not tried my hand with an acrostic, but yours is whetting my appetite for a challenge. Now to arrive at a theme...

*** Enjoyed this very much, as well as the responses, my ladyfriends.

Mr Yeats did your mother warn you
not to do those things that you do
giving your heart so visible there
showing your passion, sharing you care
breaking those women's hearts by the score
to have them return and drink your words more
did you mother not warn you, senstitivity pays
now those women will follow you all of your days.

Kethry-

OK-

#1 - call me Bill alright? I hate formality with friends

#2 - I've been posting poetry in other forums now for nearly 3 years - met and chatted with more than a few - and know well at least 4 from 'down under' (2 in Melbourne, one in NZ and 1 in Perth) so I'm wise to 'your'  ways -
I lead no one on. I figure we're all grown up enough to not get messed up over poetry. (not that I haven't myself - and recently   )
but I feel fairly certain  my profile and 'site' clearly spells out who I am - and that should eliminate the immature.  I can and will be a good close friend to anyone who wants to be - but beyond that - it must be a two way street

(I know you were 'tongue in cheek' - but I had to speak   )
