This is the sequel to Ties, so if you enjoyed that read then I hope you will also like this one!
The Ties That Bind - Part Two

And now her time had come at last,
To leave the mortal world.
Her one request, she finally asked
The golden thread to hold.

She held it, tight, within her grip
And thought of days gone by,
Of her sweet husband, gone before,
And tried hard not to cry.

Then, as her family stood by,
Her outward breath came long.
They took her hand, to say goodbye...
The golden thread was gone!

Her husband came to lead her home,
As life she did depart;
The thread became as breath anew,
And wound back, round her heart.

Debbie,

This is such a good sequel, dear...good writing.  Hey, do we get to hear part 3, perhaps?

Take care,

Michael

EnglishRose:

I am so glad that I had the chance to read both poems.  Both are equally beautiful.  I like your style of writing - nicely done!

Well, gotta admit I read the sequel first then looked up the first part.  Loved them both and I also think you should combine them as one......Lovely

On second thought, after re-reading them both, I like them better separated as they really are two separate pieces...the first "till death do us part", the second just her...as happens so often. Again, well done.

Beautifully wound in every line and I am so glad that there was a sequal and love is in love's arms again.  I agree with you....the thread may have come to an end but the memories of what you have shared will rest within us forever.  Excellent write and as lovely as the first one.
