through eternity's sight ...

scream, if once upon a time
the world's earthy green
fell under foot so soft
if once upon a mind
the sea's salty toss
healed the scar so clean

scream, if once upon a climb
the hill's sloping step
fell to stamina's will
if once upon a find
the treasure's glowing trove
lit the eyes to gleam

scream, if once upon a chime
the bell's shimmering ring
rang so clearly clear
if once upon a rhyme
the word's deafening ping
sparked the quill to preen

still to dream
if once upon a scream
in our days of dark
and our nights
of sleepless light

will to dream
of youth's brimming bream
in our lives to embark
and our deaths
through eternity's sight

My calling before me, let quill be my offering;
For to be called poet, no greater gift to receive.

Read aloud, as I believe poetry is best received, this piece enchants the mind. Your word play and phraseology are sublime, to my way of thinking. I really enjoyed this composition.
