film is dead
lifeless ghost haunting
realities rolling spinning tapes
voiceovers and soundtracks fill our heads
spoken words of men long forgotten faded images
and emotions that have burned out leaving us fizzled over time

living memories made up of eternal yet mortal actors
carrying on as if like phantoms on television rotting
in the subconscious of some mainstream
american culture

oh the glory of many random moving pictures
dancing like little fat fairies in my little fat head
visions ever so eloquently portrayed in black and white
often denounce the sobriety of color and the shades of denial

clearly culture is slowly consistently deteriorating
while recycled plot lines blindly molest
driving us ever closer to some hollow
intellectually devoid and
blissfully ignorant
death

Ah yes the hollowness of modern culture,
Effigy, excellent thought provoking piece.

Hey thanks everyone, I'm glad that you could enjoy this.  I hope the lack of punctuation did not prove to be too confusing.

Another one of your best works. "Oh the glory of many random moving pictures" That line and the entire following stanza is AMAZING. This one is both lyrically and structurally beautiful. I applaud you.
