I see us on a hilltop,
A golden, sunlit place.
Rays of morning cast a glow
Upon your lovely face.

I hear your gentle laughter,
Yet something seems quite wrong.
Clearly, this sweet laughter
Has been silent far to long.

I feel your apprehension,
Fear from times long past.
Memories of love gone sad,
Never trusting love to last.

I see and feel these things in you
As mirrors of my soul.
Like you, I've often trembled
From hurts and loves of old.

But here and now are happiness,
There are only you and I.
For the moment love is real,
Let not this time go by.

Grab this moment, hold it tight.
Tuck it safe, away.
Perhaps to bring you back a smile
In a darker day.

Some men see things as they are and ask "WHY ?" I see things as they could be and ask "WHY NOT ?"
