Sitting in Michael's Lap

How fickle floats the butterfly betwixt the blushing blooms;
No sooner placed her breezy step upon the petal-stair
Than colors carry her aloft in glorious display
Of rainbows woven in the wings less tangible than air.

So delicately drawn, her drams – a kiss less truth than dream;
Her fleeting pause, a song in light – though silently she goes;
And ev'ry blossom plies his charm to win her fair esteem:
To be the vessel of her brief and beautiful repose.

But Death comes here, as to us all – not even she is spared –
And whilst the flowers bow to mourn their darling butterfly,
The pixie's children creeping come, with teeth and hunger bared
To feast upon the very buds who sought their mother's eye!

Breathtakingly beautiful!

Really!  I enjoyed it very much.

"How fickle floats the butterfly betwixt the blushing blooms; No sooner placed her breezy step upon the petal-stair Than colors carry her aloft in glorious display Of rainbows woven in the wings less tangible than air."

Wonderful imagery.
