Spirit of The Owl

Winter's glen
gray dawn skies
no sun up in
early morn
heaven sighs

down the lane
tree lined but bare
mysteries unfold
you didn't know
were there

snow and ice
crunch underfoot
walking quiet is
impossible
trip on root

hidden in the deepest recesses of here and then
sleeps the spirit of the Owl, answering 'who' at when
a discord settles within to break his sleep
and from the recesses of his darkness deep
the spirit comes, and the Owl then keeps

the secret of all time, held in feathered wing
and in the most silenced of plume, sweeps off
no effort in movement, feathers outstretched
through naked limbs, through the breech
no sound, no blare, in feathered wing

silence overall, no hint of gray ghost on high
was it just a vision, or a spirit in the sky
silently it sat, as quietly was swept away
spirits come to the land in the early morn
while the eve still sleeps, before day is born

snow and ice
crunch underfoot
walking quiet is
impossible
trip on root

down the lane
tree lined but bare
mysteries unfold
you didn't know
were there

winter's glen
gray dawn skies
no sun up in
early morn
heaven sighs

Very, very impressive, Sunrise. The way you put this together with the construction and the way the thoughts were linked together in such a fluid, flowing style is awesome....

Spirit gliding in greyish sky
as in misted morn you awake
Penned in talent through poets eye
Your beauty she will not forsake

Wisdom of life and soul of heart
Watchful eyes of questioning grace
Piercing darkness with pointed dart
Resting peace of spirit upon this face

Karilea-I have a fascination with owls and always have and this creation of yours is so magnificant and full of your vision and wisdom that one could not but fall in love with this marvelous piece.  In my library for sure.

Karilea,
This is TERRIFIC writing, my friend...

The pen that you hold
holds your spirit with it...
it is not ink that flows
but fluid flowing thoughts...
and it is not ink bubbles that lends air,
but the breath of a poetess with flair...

My regards O Amazing poetess,
Sudhir.

Sunshine, your attention to details of peacefulness make this poem art. This is lovely.

So beautiful.  The images settled upon me as I read.  I also really liked how you wrote the poem.  It flowed beautifully and was a joy to read out loud to myself.

Maybe time for a repost?
