Wind is blowing through the trees...
Wind chimes swinging in the breeze...
Looks to me like Fall is on it's way...
Put away my Summer clothes...
Go roll up the garden hose...
Tie things down, so they won't blow away!!

One big storm is heading in...
Sky is dark and looks like sin...
Think it's time to gather one last crop...
Peas are falling off the vine...
Berries taste like juicy wine...
Time to gather rosehips, or they'll pop...

Inside where it's warm and dry...
I've watched the Summer days go by...
Putting off some things I should have done...
Cleaning cupboards...scrubbing walls...
Dusting cobwebs down the halls...
Items left to tackle one by one...

This morning I was quite aware...
Autumn's chill within the air...
Have to check the stove for winter's heat...
I need to find my old wool socks...
They're hidden in some cardboard box...
They will be most welcome on my feet...

All these chores, I've yet to do...
There's probably some forgotten few...
I think I'll check the list I made last year...
Time keeps rushing by so fast...
Summer came, and now it's past...
But Autumn is my favorite time of year!!

Hi Sunny,
This was so very sweet the way you wrote it. A'hhh, autumn, time to snuggle, time to lite up the fire, and get warm by the fireplace.

Sunny

Very nicely done.  Did you order your long johns and wool blankets from LL Bean?  It doesn't get cold up there - it gets frigid!
Just keep writing your poems and your friends here on Passions will keep you warm (in your heart anyway).

  Hi Bill....
You're right....Autumn is the start of the official woodstove season!! There's all kinds of ways to stay warm up here!!
           Thank you, kind sir!!

Hi didi....
Nope.....should wear the long johns, but don't. We wear Carharts up here.
It's good to know my friends here will warm me up so that my typing will continue!!!!
                Thank you, didi!

Hi cat....
Wish we could just skimp Winter and revert back to full-time Autumn!!
              Good to see you hear!!
