Watching the leaves fall
past my window I remember you
Like a breathe of autumn wind
   your memory creeps in again
And all my hard won indifference
flutters like a leaf to the ground
I cannot seem to lose you
   in this cold autumn wind
Leaving me lonely, leaving
   me chilled,
And I long for the warmth
   of the summer sun

Paula~
What a glow !
Of course I'm sitting here with the
air conditioner going ...
so it's a little difficult to visualize
the cool winter ... but I'm trying !
LOL !

I love the Autumn and watching the leaves fall from the trees.  This is a a wonderful poem you have penned and though it has sadness in it..memories are all so sweet.

Paula....
This is my favorite time of year, although a lot of memories are left behind, like warm days, warm nights and someone to share them with.
                 Beautiful poem!!

Paula,

This is so very pretty...I love the fall and how it so often does bring memories long forgotten to mind.

I tend to be cold-blooded...or is that warm-blooded? I am cold most of the time so I really felt this one...and moving on will come, eventually.

I really like the way you tie the emotions into the changing seasons.  The cold and bite of autumn, with its symbolic falling leaves, versus the warmth and comfort of summer's content.  Maybe I'm tired, but that's what it says to me!
In any event, it's a fine piece and a pleasure to read.
