Love's Reverie

A crimson crossed sun, in sangria sipped
the morning's arising display
Free falling fire through blush break of dawn
Come dance with me down to the day

In brilliance of birth, the sky floats, aflame
Soft sounds of our kisses are sweet
Lets waltz to the whirl of the whispering waves,
each sandgrain a gift 'neath our feet

As evening cascades to daylight's embrace
we'll bathe in the spray of the sea
Then run hand in hand, over sheer ocean lace
through the dawn of our love's reverie

Claire~
Oh, what you do with a morning !
And the water !
AND the nightfall !

I love these romantically-laced beauties
that you strew about our feet !

Just lovely ... lovely lady !

Claire this reminds me of the day and evening I spent with my friend Sharna at the Turtle Bay Hilton...We spent most of the day in the swimming pool, the jacuzzi, and swimming in the bay and then we relaxed in lounge chairs and watched the beautiful sunset...a relaxing time of fun...used plenty of lotion...look ma no burn...James

Claire,

Very romantic poetry you have been writing lately my friend.  I enjoyed this one much.

I love your subtle use of alliteration throughout this very beautiful, soft flowing poem
Sweetly romantic, and superbly written, as usual

REading your poem reminds me of the feeling of when you surface in cold water feeling cleansed and invigorated, wonderful poem Claire.

AND I THOUGHT I was good at imagery.  Excellent write from the pen of one of the best.  Superb in so many ways.  Loved it.

Lone Wolf...Hi, and thanks. Every now and again I do wax a bit romantic, I suppose. Glad you liked this little bit.

Bill... Sheesh, where's my acceptance speech?? Seriously, though, thank you sincerely for your kind words. I'm very pleased to know that you enjoyed this one.

Martie...Your opinion means a lot to me, as I consider you so wonderfully creative. Thank you, for the "breathless."

Liz...Thanks for noting the alliteration. In rereading, I was a wee bit concerned that I had overdone, but you say that it is subtle, and I appreciate your viewpoint. Thank you!

Sudhir...Speaking of alliteration, eh?   Thank you, my thoughtful friend.

M.A... Such flattery! When truth remains that I post here because the city of Louisville banned me from scribbling on the train station walls.   So kind your words, Mark. Thank you.

Brian... Thank you for sharing your perspective on this piece, Brian. I like how you've described your impressions!

Mark... Dear, you are WONDERFUL at imagery! And thanks for noticing my efforts in this little poem.

Victoria... Thank you for letting me know that you found enjoyment in this piece. I so appreciate you taking the time.

~ Claire

Simply wow!!!!  You are one of the most unique, talented and creative poets that I have ever had the pleasure to know. This is a beautiful portrait of love that you have painted for us. The imagery, romance, alliteration are all perfect. I echo what the others have said!

Take care,

Melissa,
I didn't realize anyone else had read this piece. Though mere words hardly seem adequate with which to respond to your lovely note, all I can say is thank you, my friend. I am thrilled to know that you found this piece so enjoyable, and am still feeling the rush of warm colour to my face from your very flattering remarks.
