The first time I saw you
I thought nothing of it
You were just another person
In this world I had met.
Little did I know from that first day, you would
Become a good friend - important in many ways.

The days went by and still you were there
Many tears and laughter in time did we share.
Gradually you revealed some of your
Dreams and hopes while in some my lowest times it
Was you who helped me cope.
It is you who can always make me laugh when this
World gets me down and life seems too rough.

I'm so thankful for that day that you
First passed my way, and all the times since
Then you changed my dark clouds into rays
It's so often neglected to appreciate
Someone so true and so I write this poem to say Friend- thank you.
