If I Could Fly

An old worn door stays shut
no one knocks or rings anymore
a peephole to the outside world
seldom see's the eye

Alone in a chair by a  window
she peers through a curtain of lace
while children play in a nearby field
she strains to see with squinted eyes

A robin sits on the window sill
eyeing a worm as he inches by
at her soft crys, he flys

If only I could fly ...
I would fly to that field
run like the wind, to chase a balloon
lay in the grass, to watch the clouds
as they turn to puppy dogs, with tails
and the man in the moon, as he smiles

If only I could  fly ...

I just don't have the words to say how much
this touched me, you penned the feelings so
very well and the parts of my heart this
touched are ones that I don't look at very
often....absolutely exquisite writing~

P.S. if you could fly, can I too? and if I could, can I fly along side you?

If I was granted a wish ... It would be that we could all fly ...to our dreams ...  even if only for a day and a night ... Imagine the magic that would adorn these pages
Wonderfully written
thankyou for sharing it with us

Soar in your heart to that field
Race among the breezes kicking dust
No more doors in which to shield
Go fly my rose...to do it is a must

Beautiful write and full of saddened dreams
