If I had one wish
   tonight
I'd wish these miles
   away
And hold you tightly
   in my arms
Until the break of
   day
I'd wish the world
   on someone else
So time for us would
   stand still
Then maybe in that
   length of time
Of your love I'd
   get my fill
I'd wish for wishes
   that I could give
To you each and every
   day
So that when we have
   to be apart
You could wish these
   miles away

*sigh*  I'm not sure how much more of this I can take.     The swooning may have permanent side effects!  I don't know what is causing this writing, but hold on tight to whatever it is.  It's coming out beautifully.

Wishes and dreams.....sometimes it what
makes the days worth getting up for isn't
it....the longing and the tenderness were
felt in your words Paula.  Thank you so much
for your kind reply and offer of a shoulder
on my poem...you are a very special lady~

Paula~

Such lovely wishes
on display
Falling so softly
far away

Wishes have
a way about 'em
when they return to the heart
they were wished upon

Bringing from
across the miles
the very heart
to make yours smile.

Keep on wishing, hon.
Lovely thoughts.

Paula,
did you wish upon a star cause there's something celestial about this poem. Hope your wish comes true in every possible way.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder.....

I would rather have no distance at all.....

I know I can be fond up close.....

I miss my beloved as well....

miles between are mountains but they can be traversed with love and time. It would be nice if we had wishes to speak out and have come true.

If it's meant to be, fait will decide.
I too wish the mile away, so I could hold my angel close. I now play a chess game with fait, and hope with the faith of my love will bring me closer to winning the game of paitence and time.

You truely speek from the heart.
Very warm piece of poetry.
I loved it.
