Unearth me

I’m under these dreams
can’t find air
unless
I’m swallowing hope
and imagining

the truth of your skin

It is strongest
in the night air
when jasmine smoothes
its scent around me
I walk my darkened streets
and lamp-flickers mock
the candles I could
light with you

I’d spread dry wax
and wick
over the floor
brush them gently
and laugh at the lamps
impassively seeing night
far
    from here

In this private bind
I never sleep
you hold my eyelids
with fingers I will
kiss

when I end the dream

wake up

and wake up

I’ll rush the air
through me
throw sand in your hair
discuss the life of the weather
and the reason God
waits till death

We’ll lay back
and watch
our dreams moving out
left with only eyes
into eyes and now

for
the night urges me on
to moments
of our breath patterned
against clouds

and then I say

I will find you

I will

flowed like a peaceful breeze...that's where
the best dreams are often held you know

There must be a word that outshines 'exquisite' but I can't think of it now - you must imagine it with me - - I loved this

Severn,
Oh I needed this! It's like drinking sunlight and dancing moonbeams.

Simply stunning.

To plant a flower along the path is not enough ...
you must return to tend it !
More you little minx !

A measure of sadness added to steadfast hope.
Beautiful poem Kamla. Beautiful.

Severn:

Your poetry is one of the reasons I cannot stay away.  It's wonderful to see you writing of things dreams are made of.  I hope your waking is as beautiful as this poem.
