#65 (from XAIPE -by e.e. cummings)  and my piece:"YES" it inspired
(and yes he did use capitals)

i thank You God for this most amazing
day:for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
anda blue true dream of sky;and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today,
and this is the sun's burthday;this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings:and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any - lifted from the no
of all nothing- human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ear of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes
Thank You God for the word
For it said with the eyes
Thank You for it spoken
Someone said and memory's broken:
"Of all the words of tongue
or pen, the saddest are these:
'it might have been' "
Thank You God for the affirmation
I give You praise and confirmation
Spoken with a touch
It means so very much
All my years I sat 'neath trees
All my years I felt the breeze
Or basked in sun's warm rays
Through haze and cloudless days
Never giving you a thought
No credit for the wine I bought
Absolutely none for what You'd wrought
Until today my heart's been caught
Clearly I'm no prize you see
Had no thought what's meant to be
Thought forever I'd be free
Carefree as a child with glee
But today you've brought me her
Heavenly thoughts first did occur
Could not have found her on my own
Yet in my heart her seed you've sown
So now I see glory in trees
Smell her scent on every breeze
In her eyes sun's brightest rays
And I'll love her for all my days
~Upon the seagulls wings lies the
ocean breeze, as silver moonlight
floats along the tides endless shore,
I stand beneath the stars to find peace
Wil- that e.e.cummings poem is one of my very favorite poems of all time... i used to have that one memorized... it was one of the poems which sparked my interest in writing poetry when i was 16.
your poem is a fine tribute and i can see within the lines how cummings' poem inspired you. it was lovely-- thanks for the read
(i think it's important to put the (c) for the poet and someone may own rights to it... Ron has spoken about this somewhere in these halls but i'm afraid i dont have a url reference at the moment....i'm not sure what the exact "rules" are here about posting poetry of published poets... you might want to check into it)< !signature-->
Very beautiful writing.  He is always there watching out for us.
