Another drink....a sleeping pill Wait a moment then succumb Soon departs the chill Peaceful walk begun When voices haunt too loud And dreams become too real Nothing to be proud This is how you deal Escape the pain Flee the moment Shielded from the rain Hidden from the torment The pain will be there And the time to face it Into the mirror you stare See the time that’s wasted No one to tell Who would care This hidden hell You’ll never share When the strength is gone To reality you’ll grope Quietly hiding until dawn This is how you cope |

(funny how I can give the advice but not follow it)  anyway...YOU KNOW I relate WAY TOO MUCH to this one... BUT I'LL DENY EVERYWORD  me thinks its time for walks in the sunshine and dances in the moonight .. i promise you'll sleep tight love ya me |

Yep, cant deny Ive curled up in a ball many times... Butterflies may not cry but you cant deny that they dont fly at times. So sad, hope everything is better Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go. |

LOL...i'm just kidding... sorta *wink* ...who am i to say??? huh??? not a fun way to live and you've expressed it well here, and Butterflies.... i have written you this.... ~ butterflies don't cry ~ don't cry, butterflies, please don't cry life can be better than caught in the eye deep in a hurricane trapped in it's whirl, don't cry, butterflies, don't cry, girl. take all that pain that you're hiding behind - turn it to rainflowers deep in your mind - let all the dreamclouds surround you with mist, think of your soul as god's child double-kissed. love yourself easy and love yourself kind - trip the denial up way past the blind - follow your heartbeat and leave the grief past, forgive all the butterflies doubtings that cast guilt and denial upon wing-ed souls -- find friend who nurture and fill gaps and holes... butterflies aren't meant to live in a jar - i've been there before you... i'll pray you past far - so sweet wing-ed poet please open the lid and let yourself fly past the done and a did... no, butterflies fly by they don't like to weep - i pray that your pain will be swallowed by sleep lie down this night, gently, and pray for god's hand to lead you past slavery where he'll understand. no, don't cry, butterflies, please don't cry life can be better than caught in the eye deep in a hurricane trapped in it's whirl, don't cry, butterflies, don't cry, girl. A touching and bold look into the human tendency to hide when the pain becomes too great. A defense mechanism, yes, but a place of darkness that only suceeds in deepening the pain overall. From one who's been down THAT road, I wish you peace of mind. Corinne |

So sad but true!! So many times on the street has a young person tried to escape the pain and end up taking one to many pills or one drink to much. You have written a very touching poem and I thank you!!! |
