straining at the ropes that bind her
that hold her an unwilling captive
the young filly struggles for freedom

the far-off places call to her on the breezes
enflaming her desire to taste freedom
she stops fighting and stands motionless
head lifted
to breathe the winds of liberty in deep
she knows somehow she must be free
somehow she must loose these fetters
so she can fly like the eagles
so she can race over the uneven ground
at a biting pace, and just run!

resuming her passioned fight
she can feel the ropes starting to loosen
her freedom bound by but a thread now
must not cease the struggle
must be free
must leave her demons far behind
in a cloud of dust and sorrow

there!
freedom!
it's hers!

and run she does
as far and as fast as she can go
never stopping to rest
never slowing
never ever looking back

Hey there, ya lil filly!  I see that you've opened your horizons and now see that the world awaits you.  Watch out world because here comes a lady to be reckoned with.

For some reason this reminded me of the struggles of my teenage years...wanting to be free from the confines of parents etc....anyway...that is what I got out of it..Good post I liked it...
