Did all of you know,
That I used to be a poet?
I used to write my thoughts in rhyme,
So all the world would know it.

But then one day the words just stopped,
And I knew not what to do.
Through my writing my thoughts had changed,
No longer shades of blue.

It didnt feel quite right,
For the dark thoughts had left me.
The well in which I drew,
Went dry and set me free.

So now I leave you all,
My wonderful poetic friends.
I guess that in my case,
I'ts the means that justified the ends.

Well, its been a great experience being a member of the Passions family, but I am afraid I must leave you all now. I was a fairly prolific poster in here for a few months, and when I started I wrote my darkest of thoughts, because it is what I knew best, but as I wrote them, they grew fainter and fainter, until one day I was hardly feeling them at all. These emotions I discovered were what fueled my poetry, and once they were gone I couldnt seem to write anything good at all, and my urge to read poetry suffered too. In the end I guess the poetry was just a phase, a type of therapy for me which changed my life in an incredible way, but I just dont need, and done feel the urge, to write it any more. I will stop by once in awhile and talk to you guys, and if anyone wants to talk they can find me on ICQ with the number in my profile, or for more reliable contact, use AIM. My screen name is Mistikman01. Well, Adieu good friends, I shall miss you all.

Aaahhh Mistikman, but you "did" write poem without darkness above ... what a nicely penned goodbye!  Should you ever need the therapy of the pen again, you know it awaits you ... take care and best wishes for the future.

Best wishes,

When we write for ourselves we heal,
when we write for others we write continually. Good luck to you

Mistik ...
there is no such thing as "used to be a poet"
poets are born...it is a gift ...
just like being able to sing, or draw...
some do it well..some are exceptional ...
I have read your poetry.. and I understood your dark expressions and your need to write that way.....
now you dont "need" to write that way ...
and that is the gift of poetry...
the way it allows us to first bleed..
then heal ...
Perhaps you are at a crossroads...
where ever you paths lead now...
you are still a poet
it will always live inside...
and should you need it again...for whatever reason..
to express any kind of emotion ...
it will be there ...
so will passions
you need only to allow yourself to be inspired by your own poetic light
take care gifted poet ....

The change is wonderful though    Though I'm sorry you've lost the urge to write

We'll miss you around here....but hey I've got you on icq

I'm glad things have gotten better for you. I'm glad that writing while you did was theraputic! I'm also really happy you did write, for however long, or we wouldn't have had the chance to meet you!      Hugs

Wow, I am a little blown away now   I wasnt expecting near this kind of response, especially due to my absence in the last 3 months or so. I thank you all, and I will miss you all as well, and if the gift ever returns to me, I shall be back here posting among you all again. Peace out.

i have never read a poem of yours, and i don't believe we ever crossed paths here in Passions..but as one human being to another, i think its great that u have made such a great accomplishment of overcoming that angst..those dark thoughts...not many ever get over that, and to hear that a fellow Passions member did just that, well i think its cool   ( sorry but i have to use slang lol)  kudos to you and i wish you the best...but remember, do not abandon poetry...for it expresses other factes of life to which u will expereince without a doubt  .

The pen lays on the desk alone
The candle out, 'twas gently blown
Your spirit and soul, they now have grown
And to you it seems the end.

But in years to come, as life goes by
When a child laughs, a lover cries
Or you're moved by moonlit summer skies
You'll know to write again.

Mistikman, a poet grows and changes.  But so long as a poet breathes, writing or not, they remain a poet.
Until I have the pleasure of your next works...

Mistik~
I must agree with Janet Maree once a poet always a poet. I went quite a few years without writing anything down and even now I don't write all the time but when I do I can't stop.
I hope you do continue to write when you feel like it even if it is only for your eyes because poetry is a most beautiful gift and helps us through some very dark times in our lives and well as the good.
I wish you well and hope you stay true to word and come visit us again some time.
Tracie~
