The sky was dark and dreary,
My legs were weak and weary,
I was far from home that night,
I fear was lost, my sorry plight.

Then up ahead I spied a farm,
Its warmth would save me from cold's harm,
Into the barn with stealth I crept,
Far worse places the night I've slept.

I went to sleep in cattle's manger,
                Was unaware, impending danger,
By loud banging, I was awoke,
And then I saw, near had a stroke.

From out the loft, a coffin loomed,
I knew right then, my life was doomed.
As coffin banged across the floor,
I feared that soon, would be no more.

I was so scared, out of my mind,
When in my pocket I did find,
                A mentholyptus Luden's drop,
Popped in my mouth to coffin stop.

Wicked Witch of the East

  I thought you were leading up to a dreary demise, but you were only coffin;
boy was I surprised.

Good one.  I liked it very much.  Caught totally off guard with the ending.

Wicked Witch, I guess all good horror stories have a twist, I just wasn't expecting to be laughing at the end. Loved it.
