The Purest Love

You are the sun to light my face
You are the rose to please my eye
And deep inside my heart you are
The soothing of a lullaby

You’ve given purpose to my day
And sparkling stars to shine above
To blanket me with canopies
Of sweetest kiss and purest love

You are the nectar of the flower
The honeysuckle’s sweetest dew
And you reflect the halo glow
Of angels now surrounding you

You’ve brought me back to innocence
With looks of honesty and grace
With laughter bursting from inside
You put a smile on this old face

How can a grandchild small and mild
Give new perspective to my fears
And drown the sorrows that have been
Inside my heart for many years

Elizabeth
So gentle the words. Heartfelt and touching.
A child can light up our life, with just one smile, and open our heart to love once more.

Liz, the healing love for and of a child, and I can only imagine, but especially a grandchild, holds the Grace of the Ages. This is a divine recognition of that purest love, my friend...just beautiful!

They do have that special ability to do that to us, don't they, Elizabeth?!! This one touched my heart...tenderly!   (but don't forget...we are both very young grandmothers! We just feel old sometimes!   )

Liz, this is a beautiful tribute to your grandchild! It must be a wonderful feeling to feel this kind of love. You describe it well.

With the title I thought immediately of
children...I see this light that you speak
of in my father's eyes when he looks at my
children...it will be a pleasure to share
this poem with him.  Thank you so much, this
is beautiful work~
