Rambling Once Again

she says to me
(my neighbor)
while I weeded today
how "bizarre this really is"
to be pained,
so much in this way
why not seek
some help for strength
build up your confidence, again
it's always easy
for others to say
what they would have done, if them
but I am torn,
and scared even more
I'm to be shelved,
after all these years
that's what it feels like...
I am dented, outdated
it's younger, he wants now to share
too old to be sated
I'm a heart filled with dreams
never completed in all
and a waste of a mind
memory soaked
hurtful his words, to recall
why can't we leave
just as we had begun
as good friends, who cared for each much
no hurting, no fighting
soft gentle goodbyes
leaving wishes of morrows to touch
and a peaceful new start
for each to enjoy
a new beginning, apart
held within each,
a corner, remembered
the best of those years,
in each heart.

This is good writing...

this part:

but I am torn,
and scared even more
I'm to be shelved,
after all these years

is so very painful.

silky surface of the Severn...
it was a famously difficult
river with fierce tides..."

Maureen honey....in time it is he that will be asking YOU for all that you seek and it is YOU that will so much further than he.  Your pain is now and will be long gone by the time he is able to even begin to face his.  You are a tender soul and you have much to offer.....much more than one so young to as not even know what life is.  Smile girl and give the world what for.  Lovely write as usual my friend.

Good evening Maureen,
You write of pain and anguish, but time will pass, as I have said. Peace and serenity be with you, and there will be a time when you will overcome.

It sounds as if you are overcoming. The only shelf that should contain you are for your words--in a beautifully bound book in the poetry section of the library.
best to you

Severn

yes it is all very  painful, for some reason no one  believes two  persons can end their love for one another civily and all the outside  influences  come into play rather than to allow that to happen in our case...it is destroying years and years of caring for one another...
thank you

Maureen,
If you are bad you hide it so well. Everything I see in you is beautiful and gentle and very, very good. Hang in there girl.
