Four simple words I speak, I love thee Rose,
There, 'tis now said, no beauteous madrigal,
From forth mine lips, to thee mine love disclose,
No dreams, nor illusions on thee befall.
For goddess of night's welkin sky above,
Is not mine quest, thou art mine life's adore,
I cede to thee mine heart, and soul thereof,
My gift fair Rose, mortal love and nothing more.
You took mine hand, and placed it on thy heart,
To feel within, thy inmost hopes and dream,
I found therein, true love to me impart,
As pure and sweet, as flowing mountain's stream.
I love thee Rose, for thee mine heart doth pound,
I love thee Rose, in thee my heart have found.

Mike--Your rose must truely be fair, to light up you words with such beauty..I hope no thorns are clustered within her sweet boquet.

'tis the great thing about poetic roses Martie...  aren't any thorns... *smile*
they exist only in the gardens of the mind.

Chuck,
I loved your poem. However a Rose without thorns is... stuck in a vase somewhere.
Be well

Mike~
You do gather the loveliest of roses.
A floral delight.

Love doth adorn thy words so well, is such simple words you do say, but three simple words are well said from thee I love you, the three most elegant and imparted words that one can ever say, I loved this poem so shakespearean, words do survey our hearts!
