I've refrained from posting much lately... My mama taught me that if I can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all... and my muse seems to have visited only to make my wallowing a tad more poetic than "Life sucks!" LOL (And there are, after all, only so many ways I can say I miss Toerag... even if I borrow from his extensive vocabulary! *G*) At any rate... I've spared you long enough. LOL. This one is a couple of months old now... I AM surviving this upheaval... and with Toe posting again, I can even imagine enjoying life once more!! *S* (Brief pause for a suthern YIPPEEE! *G*)

Damage Report

Each and every box unpacked reveals
That care was taken in this deal.
Very little could be improved
In the way my belongings made the move.

Joe Montana's autographed book,
Porcelain with a Bavarian look
Made it without incident -
Nary a ding or crack or dent.

Baccharat crystal, Steuben cats,
Hand-embroidered linen mats
All came through unmarred, intact.
So why did the stupid packer lack

Attention in caring for her heart?
It lies broken, ripped apart,
Tossed into the trash, ignored
Leaving this gaping, oozing sore.

New beginnings? What a joke!
I'm unhappy, lonely, broke...
A whimpering ball of misery.
Where the hell did I pack ME?

Wow...what a cry for help!!!!!  You have penned a beauty in pain and sorrow.  Has any body seen Toerag for this poor girl?  Hold on to all the packing...you got to be in there somewhere.  Have you checked in the sugar bowl?  Sweet is found where sweet has been.

Suthern-I know the feeling of packing away feelings and parts of yourself, a very touching piece.  Give yourself a lifetime of trying to put it all together.  Hugs.

Mark: How very kind of you... thank you! *S*

PDV: You sweetheart... If I haven't thanked you before for always being so welcoming and supportive, let me remedy my lapse... THANK YOU! (And I'm trying... *S*)

LR: A far cry from "Feelin' Groovy"... right? *S* Thanks... especially for the leather huggz! *S*

Marge: There was a time when I wasn't hard to find... just look for Toe! LOL. But this shadow even loses herself when he's not around. *G*

SEA: Thank you... I know you understand. *S*

Corazon: Work enough for me while you're at it, wouldja? *G* (And NO, medical cards don't count!)

Gemini: Hmmmm... Did I forget to mention I have no patience? *G*

Thank you all very much... your kind words are greatly appreciated!

i read this yesterday and wanted to reply but i didn't have time at the time... so I'M BACK!!!!

first, let me say that i could totally identify with this piece and... i know, as a writer, you want the reader to feel what you're writing... well... i felt it... too much... i have a poem in the works about packed boxes... they are still packed... i don't know when or if or whether i will unpack them... but that's me... and this is YOUR poem... and ... it's... very YOU and very very special... and if i could reach out through this screen and hug you, i would do it but since i can't... i'll just say... thanks for coming back to Passions and sharing this with us... we have missed you and your writing

Kit & Nan: Thank you both so very much!

Doreen: I'd take that hug in a heartbeat! *S* Your poems touch me deeply... as does your welcome... Thank you!

X-Angel: I'm glad you loved the poem... and if hugs across the miles would help the hurt, you have mine.
