Love Just Like John and Yoko

I feel the life flowing out of me
and my hearts in a spin.
I don't want to feel
rejection all over again.
Must be chasing the wrong woman.
Should relax and wait
til one chases me.
Let her do at least part of the work
if not let her be.
Perhaps I'm asking way too much.
How silly of me to desire
a womans soft loving touch.
Only want to feel the same Love
that John Lennon sought.
He loved Yoko Ono
and she loved him a lot.
If you don't think so
just stop sometime and listen to "Oh Yoko!"
Sing it out loud John!
Sing your majestic eternal love song.
In the words I can feel your Love living on.
"In the middle of a cloud I call your name.
Oh Yoko, oh Yoko, my Love will turn you on."

James~
Yes, they seemed to have found a love
that brought them both much happiness.
It doesn't seem too much to ask, does it ?

yeah yeah yeah.... he loved her lots, i would say...

but he shouldn't have brought her to band practice!!!! hehe

enjoyed your verse... i like that line, "let her do at least part of the work".. oh, and i also like that "relax and wait 'til one chases me"... problem with that, though, is you'd be surprised what flies could attach themselves to stationary objects... just a thought   thanks for an enjoyable read!

Great job with this...and doreen you are just downright wicked these days...lol...

I too admired their relationship---seemingly spiritually connected...that's what I'd like too...

Liked this a lot..but if you don't get 'into' the race, how do you expect to win? Standing on the race track might get you trampled! Let her chase and catch you, but be ready to run with her!

Thanks Marge, doreen, serenity, and PoetdeVine for the nice comments..
I enjoyed the wisdom on letting them chase me...I am famous around here for chasing women away so I thought I could try the other extreme...suppose it would be sort of like going fishing without a line...think any fish would jump into the boat. Actually I am trying to find the middle ground...James

Hello JamesLee...

This was fantastic!! I'm a dedicated John Lennon fan, and this was perfect...John and Yoko would have loved this one!!  Too bad John and Yoko didn't have more time.....
             Great writing, my friend!

Their's was a spiritual love for sure and it shines to this day.  I don't know that you can go looking for such a love though...more like you just let it happen.   There is a middle ground there somewhere just takes time to find it.  Lovely read.

James, I don't think it's silly at all to desire a warm, loving touch. We are only human, after all, are we not? I know just what you're saying. You have a way of expressing yourself just right.

James,

After seeing the title.. I had to stop in, like any Beatles fan would    I agree with what the others said, John's and Yoko's love being of a spirit connection.  It is what we all long for, unfortunately it is so hard to find.  I liked the poem

Thank you all for the lovely comments.  I agree John and Yoko shared a spiritual relationship...also believe that love is admiration and appreciation and respect and desire and tenderness and so many positive creative forces all interwoven into the beautiful feeling we call Love....only recently have I become aware of the beauty of their Love...how thoroughly they enjoyed spending time together...James

Hi James, I just wanted to read this one again, and am in full agreement with your delightful description of the essence of a true and total love. It is something I think we all reach toward in our lives, and thank goodness some folks do find it. Just wish we all could.

Take care, James

James - John was not without his faults in his relationship with Yoko.  His exploits are well known, and have been glossed over by his fans.  "Exploits?" you say.  Exploits.  For he, too, loved to kick kitties.  Being British, he called it Futball with the furball.  Yeah yeah yeah.  Why do you think Yoko never had a cat?  Why do you think he never wrote a song about kitties?  Despite that trait, Yoko loved him anyway, which gives me hope that Lorelei will continue to love me.

Ooops - I'm rambling... good poem.
