We share so many things in life
Each day we are amused
By ‘knowing’ what each other thinks
Whether certain or confused

Life has dealt a wicked hand
To potential lovers you and I
For we can never be as one
No matter how hard we try

No one can touch my heart
As you have this past year
No one made me think or laugh
As you have done, my dear

Like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle
We’re a tongue and groove fit
But you are from that new box there
And I from the old one opposite

Sharon ~ sadly sounds all to familiar ... life  is definitely a puzzle,  even when the pieces are meant to fit, they don't always...

Hi PdV..

"We can never be as one no matter how hard we try" > "You are from the new box there and I from the old and opposite...this just jumped out thru screen!

I truly enjoy your style and expression you pen.

sometimes, there are pieces that you never think will fit. . . or there are pieces that never seem to make it out of the box. . . until you realize that the puzzle is missing something, and finally. . . in a corner of the box, you find that last piece. . . and it's been there all this time. . . just waiting to be discovered. . . but you never noticed it. . . until now. . .

Sorry. . . just thinking out loud about life and puzzles. . . great poem as always deVine. . . glad to see it coming back. . .

deVine, Wonderful poem! I loved the puzzle analogy. The pieces fit so perfectly yet pieces appeared older and those from the new box, newer, upon looking at the completed scene. Really enjoyed this one. Great writing.   Marcy

MissdeVine I'm not sure if you are referring to age or to uncompatability...but I understand how complex it is to find two that fit together like a puzzle...James

Sometimes with a hammer
sometimes with a knife
we make those pieces over
in order to fit our life!!

Well done Ms.

Good morning Poet deVine,
A picture puzzle you have written in my mind, and one that I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm glad that I dropped in this morning, to read this writing of yours.

One day, you will find the one that fits just right.  He is out there somewhere.  Good luck!

Y'know...I wanted to add one more thing...I too, love puzzles, and I've always found that the easiest way to solve one was to start by noticing the similarities first...you know, sharon, end pieces first, then colors and patterns...smiles and prayers for you, you are a lovely lady and I hope that the pieces all fall together for you.

puzzles..well they confuse me...and take entirely too long....if it looks like work, feels like work and sounds like work...well you know...but i can relate to the opposite of this and I LOVE the way you put it!!
great post!!!
