An old truck rounded the corner,
The driver was ringing the bell,
Painted in big runny letters,
"Frozen Goodies" was what he did sell.
I waved my dollar bill at the curb,
He slowly pulled over and stopped,
But as he let himself out of the door,
His raggedy pants, well, they dropped.
Now, I felt sorry for this old guy,
His union suit had lost its flap,
And when he bent to pull up his drawers,
He lost his floppy old...cap.
So, there he stood, pants on the ground,
His butt hanging out in the rear,
Grey hair all mussed, and unshaven face,
This scene was truly quite queer.
But it didn't stop the old fella,
It looked like he might have a sale,
So he took tiny steps to his cooler,
Cause his pants had shackled this male.
He gave me a menu to look at,
What I read shocked me even more,
He was selling frozen mudslides,
In this mobile liquor store!
He slurped a whiskey sour,
To prove his wares were good,
Right there on the sidewalk,
Yep bare butt and all, there he stood.
I told him that I thought I'd pass,
And go to the dairy instead,
He slurred a nasty obscenity,
Turned, and fell on his head.
The ambulance came to pick him up,
But the attendants needed a drink,
So they went back to the old boys truck,
And what happened was just what you'd think.
So, I took their keys and walked away,
At least they couldn't drive,
The last I looked the old man was fine,
And his business was starting to thrive.

BSC,
Sounds like that old man really creamed the ice cream. Really good piece.

Girl, this was hilarious!  LMAO!  I loved it, a great poem for the challenge.  And darn, I thought that ALL truck drivers were young and wore sexy uniforms, and to think that I had a thing for truck drivers...oh well  he he
