  A Poet is in Love

His eyes rest upon her as he is caught in her gaze
His heart a pounding with the thought of her on a shelf
With his gentle touch and his caring words of praise
Her body and her soul are about to give him his wealth
No thought of not nor any chance of turning away
She is now his as he has taken her soul
Straight to his heart forever she will stay
To caress, hold, and taste her is his goal
Loving hands sweep across her tender flesh
As her man made binds are tossed to the side
His lips upon her as the two of them mesh
Within her depths his soul will glide
Ravages of lust and desire today are his will
Reality of simple pleasures are now in his heart
Empty casings filled with her lovers swill
Him never knowing that soon she will depart
Remains of pleasures are no where to be found
His soul dazed from passion in his blinded haste
A hearty laugh from his hollows suddenly abound
As our Balladeer will put no can of spam to waste

Nan-ROFL at you.

Holly-I assume the eyes rolling back in your head is ok and it is the sudden take away of....(well you know) that you dont want to happen often.  At least I did it with humor though.LOL   I am so happy that you will be watching for the replies.  Maybe you could stand in for me.  I mean who better than you to take that job?

Kit-So what was your mind on anyway...didnt you read at the very beginning about "the thought of her on a shelf"?  Do I have to say grocery store shelf next time?  So glad you got a laugh with this one.

Julie-I got you?  Did I enjoy it as much as the spam? LOL   I don't know why everybody keeps getting so turned around in this one.  I mean isn't it obvious from the start to where this one is going?  Thank you so much my friend and the challenge is not mine but Nan's so stop by and thank her will ya.  She is a wonderful inspiration and I have had fun with this one.

Well, here I am, fresh back from my ill-fated vacation and the first sight I am greeted with is THIS!!!!

I must say, Mark, never has anyone described my love for Spam more elequently than you have here. It's like you read my mind! When you eat Spam, it's not eating...it's a religious experience, getting stuck on top of the ferris wheel, falling in love for the first time, winning an Olympic gold medal, having Kim Basinger give up her movie career to be your personal masseuse, all of this and more! I can't count the number of times my tongue has been sliced from licking the can. In the words of that wonderful old southern spiritual....Spammy...Spammy...how I love ya...how I love ya...my dear old Spammy.
Thank you for this tribute of passion to a well-deserved receipient and remember..spam spelled backwards is maps

S....is for the succulence I savor at your touch
P....is for the Passion that you make me feel so much
A....is for the absolutely awesome things you do
M....is for the mayonnaise I heap all over you

Now if I could just find a woman who could make me feel for her the way I feel for Spam.....
M....

Balladeer-I am glad you liked this one and to be honest with you....I was describing "MY" lust for spam.  Yup, I said it and it is true....this cowboy loves the stuff and have since I was swallowing solid foods.  Thanks for the inspiration on this and for your kind hearted ways of jest.
