ancient skins ...

the ancient rhythm
beating within all
strikes deep its cadence
of the bond we all seek

our blood beats
through hearts
singing its song
of time and humanity

feel the power
of collective drums
driving home
a timing's lullaby

a fire stoked
and embers rise
to the star-struck sky's
gloaming glory of souls

our return
to such a scene
will come again
so serene

so watch close
the skin's rampant pulse
watch closer still
'til we all convulse

chord will strike
in many hearts
from the words
you did impart...

and I know a few or more who will enjoy and FEEL this one...

well done...well done!

A very striking piece. The rhythm, of course, was more than implied, but the composition leant very well toward that end.

Thanks for reading ... another oddity, i think, but there may be a thought invoked ... thanks to you both again.

MA Miller,
you always do that to me, catch me with the ending so I have to go back and read the whole thing again. AND I always like it just as much the second time around.*laughs*
be well

Entrancing, wonderfully written poem.

The internal rhythm of this piece is especially striking Mark...like the anticipation of critical mass...read like a well done drum solo...excellent work here.
