Embrace the Day

by

Michael Auguste

Sometimes we all have knelt in pain
Our lives in tatters, soiled and torn
And thought we'd lose our sanity
So broken we and so forlorn

I know I have such memories
I know like me, you also do
So empty did we feel that day
The broken pieces, yet no glue

And if we had the glue it seems
Why piece them back and then go on
When all that's left are broken dreams
And the journey to make alone?

We piece them back because we must
To find new hope in days unborn
Though hurt, we have to learn to trust
And bury days that now we mourn

It's hurt and yet our heart will strive
It hungers for such tenderness
It's wounded but it will survive
And longs again to taste a kiss

And kissed again, if so you choose
Embrace the day and you'll be free
Let others see how young your heart
Wherein there lies such purity

One life we have but many days
And many years a chance to take
To shape it into perfection
With the decisions that we make

We'll make mistakes but don't lose hope
Each day renews our spirit so
Your heart will once again be kissed
And once again, will love it know

Michael~

From prayerful knee now standing,
each day a promise reigns ...
An embracing kiss from life itself
to give us hope again.

An umbrella canopied of sunshine
to warm us with the rays.
A light to shine on others
the rest of our days.

Each heart longs for sustaining
of hope beyond a fall ...
Enveloped in the grasp of friends
taking nothing ... giving all.

*Thank you for the lovely inspiration, Michael.

"Embrace the day, and you'll be free"

I don't have enough words to tell you how wonderful this whole poem really is, and I plan on keeping the line above!!!  You are so good at making others feel happy.....
             Well done, my good friend!

Michael*
Your weave has touched my heart today...it
can be difficult to put the pain aside and
give your heart to love again...but the
other option is really no option at
all...Beautiful work, I truly enjoyed it,
thank you~

Hi Auguste, the verse I treasure like more than any other is the one that rhymes like this...

"We piece them back because we must"
Though hurt we have to learn to trust"

I sighed and caught a tear on cheek as I read this verse it speaks a thousand words...

Wonderfully written
Coco

I'm happy this touched your heart.  I'll take that as a compliment to my writing.  Thank you.

Paula,
I won't ask, but if this helped you in some small way then all I can say is I'm glad, my friend.  Thanks.

CocoBaci,
I'm glad you liked those particular lines.  That's how I try to live my life.  Thank you.

doreen,
Thank you for the "excellent."  I consider that to be high praise coming from someone with your talents.
