The wanderlust has touched
   my heart
My feet are urged to
  move, to walk
Wonderous sights these
   eyes are meant to see
In the silence of the
   outback

No others tracks are
   written here
No others voice to
   mar the quiet
Just my mind and
   thoughts run free
Under the Australian
   sky

No worries here as
   I do roam
No others fate but
   mine
A journey not just
   of miles
But of my heart
   as well

I walk I walk
   beneath the moon
The dingoes song
   my walking tune
To rest beside the
   billabong
And laugh with the
   kookaburra

Ancient art a gift
   unexpected
As I see the ones
   who came before
And walk the path
   their feet did tred
And sleep under the
   same stars

I walk I walk
   to distant dreams
I walk I walk
   to seek myself
What do you think I find?

Paula,
I think you've found the true spirit of Australia in this poem. I think you've shown the true spirit of a poet in this imagery.
I hope you've found the true spirit of peace on this Walkabout.
It breathed magic, and I'm so very proud to read it.
Be well
Kethry

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it

Paula....You did good, real good. This is excellent! You write as though you have been there and had the experience, that feeling you get is so wonderful yet so hard to explain. You have certainly explained it well here. Great work!
