Rewrite

     Chameleon Windmills

I smoke cigars, wrapped peyote
With an appetite for vermouth.
Sir, by name of Don Quixote
A knight of dedicated truth.

Charging on all pyric crafts
Those dragon disguised windmills
Of pate sophisticated drafts
Playbill, waybill and pig swill.

They log an acid cryptic pen
Send fog onto the naive glen
Hide the simple and mystify
And vail the true. Of mice and men.

Fire readers with non sense themes
Spin innuendos picayune
Swing a jamboree of dreams
Tune moon shadows, into boon.

I charge by knights might and right
Within the smoked peyote light.

Seems like peyote and vermouth would be quite the inspirational food for a muse!!!That would keep the knight charging into the night..........I loved this one, my friend!!

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it
'the Present'!

I remember reading this book in College days and there were parts of it that struck my memory, of mushrooms and alcohol, it painted quite some visuals.  Nice read.

Nobody I know can attack a verbal windmill like you do. Every line of this poem is magic and as Paula said, "Spectacilar"
Your writing is so unique and wonderful
