She plays beside the restless sea,
   Her world within her hands...
To such a child, Reality, is
              sun and sky and land...

She'll dream her dreams and live her days,
   While many years rush by...
Yet, deep inside, in hidden place,
   This child will never die...

Through all the storms of life and love,
   She's kept her spirit free...
Her hopes and dreams are unrestrained...
   Just like the ancient sea...

And now she sits beside the sea,
   Her world within her hands...
The tides of time can never steal
   Her castles in the sand...

Today is a gift....
That is why they call it
'the Present'!

Hi Sunny,

"And now she sits beside the sea,
Her world within her hands...
The tides of time can never steal
Her castles in the sand.."

You have just won the "Michael Auguste  Sea Award"   for one of the most beautiful stanzas written.  It's not a real award, but I what I have to say is real.  I truly love those lines, my friend.  Well done.

You WERE watching me then, weren't you!? that day, when building sand-castles was a runner up with digging for clams...

Sunny...the sand castle that I have built in the sand, would I gladly give to you. What beautiful and most gracious verses you write. As always, I read with delight.

Oh Wow, Sunny, I am impressed, such a wise and beautiful poem.  Everything is perfect about it: flow, words, sentiment and wisdom.
This is my absolute favourite of yours!    Wow!  You should be very proud of this piece, there is magic and simple truths in it.

Take care,

Bill...
I accept your castle, and will treat it lovingly...a castle just for two, a place where love is free....
             Thank you, my friend....

Bonnie...
I love to remember the happy days of long ago....it is restful to the soul!!
Thank you, also!

Melissa Honeybee...
I do love this poem...it just flowed like magic, and became a part of me, just as much as the sandcastles I used to build!  Thank you, my friend.....

Irish Rose...
Thank you so much for your kind words, and I am really glad that I could be a part of bringing back some pleasant memories!!  You must also be a child of the sea!

Sunny, this is quite beautiful, and I agree with you. We can never give up the dreams of happiness that were given to us as children. And I am also a lover of the ocean. I even listen to a little machine that plays ocean waves every night.
Take care
