he sits in the window
     illuminated by moonlight
     writing his life
                       his heart
                                   his soul

his life is without love
but yet the words he writes
     are who he is
                       who he was
                                   who he longs to be

he still believes in the dream
     one he hopes comes true
     and so he writes
                       he sings
                                   he speaks

but in a jaded world
     he is an outcast
     he is called a fake
                       a phony
                                   a user

his heart bears the scars
     of loves lost long ago
     and yet he goes on
                       he still dreams
                                   he still tries

his soul bears the wounds
     of judgements made of him
     and of the friends lost
                       the loves lost
                                   the life lost

and yet, still he writes
because it is all he knows
it is really who he is
                       what he is
                                   this he is

and so here he sits alone
writing the dreams of his heart
     longing to be accepted
                       to be respected
                                    to be loved

in a world where dreams are daily shattered
     where lives are daily broken
he still dares to follow his dream
                       to follow his heart
                                    to follow his soul

I believe this is not a dream, but the real thing here Sven.  Very honest and sincere.  I hope that some day, your dreams come true for you . . . I really do.

Wonderful writing.

Sven......
This is so beautifully written and sincere. It's description seems to fit a lot of us, regardless of gender!

Sven~
The writings from your heart will never be stilled ...
and that's how it should be.

Follow the dream and you'll find your heart
resting in the heart of one who seeks the same dream.

As always ... I enjoy your passion for writing from your heart.

This piece is surly from the heart and if not seen as such:
Then it is read by heartless souls… Very nice piece of writing here! And a wonderful expression of your feelings !!
I agree with Sunny1....

John...I enjoyed this much, as I have so many of your poems.  As long as you continue to write, I will continue to read.  This was one of the most heartfelt and sincere that I have read from you, and I mean that, without any ambiguities or innuendo.  Peace.

My friends,
thank you all for your comments. . . I wish that I could thank you all individually. . . but time prevents me from doing so. . . so, thank you all for your words and your encouragement. . . they mean a lot to me. . . as they always have. . .

I will continue to write the only way that I know how. . . from my heart and from my soul. . .

Thank you all again. . .

Oh Sven your poem touched me so.  A bittersweet piece to read, beautiful and full of the poetic mastery that only your romantic and hopeful heart posesses!  A sadder piece from you, proving that you can bring any topic to life with your own unique flair.  Email me if you ever need to talk ok!

Take care, my friend,

As your poetry is to Passions....... your heart and soul are a gift my friend.  Though at times you may not see it, but they are.

I wish you much happiness, my friend
