I think back to the days of yore
To when the church bells rang
Back to the distant days
To the time that my soul sang

It seems that I was younger then
Though it wasn't long ago
That we lived and loved so much
Time goes by fast, you know

I still see it in my mind
I hear the church bells ring
I see you there, still loving me
To the tune that my soul sings

What a tune my soul did sing!
It was such a beautiful song
That all the angels in Heaven above
Seemed to sing along

Oh, how the bells did ring!
Oh, how my soul did sing!
But love is a cruel thing, you see
And it's done it's work on me

Time has rusted the old church bells
So they no longer ring
Dying love destroyed my heart
So it no longer sings

I could never forget the day
You left my life forever
My soul would never sing again
And the bells would rust together

But alas, I still wait for the day
That the bells will ring, as before
I still wait for the one to teach
My soul to sing once more

-- Such hope here, my friend.  I loved the idea of the churchbells.  Wonderful work, as always!
