     Compatibility

Woman's essence blooms as the
     budding of the rose,
     full-bodied bouquet,
     finely-sheened satin,
     absorbing lawn's warmth
from waving tress to curling toes.

Man's aura exudes strength
     as the stretching arms
     of the mighty Oak,
     strong-boned, angled features,
     sheltering its charge beneath,
     gentle shade protecting stately.

Together, forming balance,
     finessing the scene;
     Large, powerful branches
     to its delicately petaled counterpart
     embracing compassion’s quiet gleen.

You've written a really unique piece here!
I love how you've portrayed the delicate nature of women and the strength of man. And combining the two together in the end.

Excellent work!

No doubt some will argue that it's sexist but I'm a romantic at heart and like to think of the man as the strong one (in muscle, that is...not neccessarily in mind. LOL)

I'm happy your enjoyed it, Whtdove!

Chansie - I love the metaphor you used here.  You really sewed it up nicely, too, which can be a real stumbling block if it isn't done right.

As for sexist... You may relax here in the Forums.  Nobody here is a sexist watch out for Balladeer, Rebel, and all those other men!  They cannot be trusted because they are terribly sexist and will want you to send them peekshures.  You may trust us all to be respectful.

I've read all the threads of the Balladeer/Rebel/Yes, you too  ...gives me the giggles it does!

Since we're on nickname basis, may I call you Longie?

But seriously, I appreciate your read and thank you for the kind comments  ...chanson~

I like that sexist stuff myself, (she says while looking out the window to see if her prince is riding towards her)
Very cool poem.

Hi chanson....

I love the definite differences between male and female in the beautiful work.  I guess that makes me a sexist, too, but it's ok here at Passions!!!  We all accept each other's view.......great job!!!

Today is a gift....

Thank you Sunny1!

I like it here very much at Passions. It's so refreshing, unlike many sites where spammers get the best of the forum.

Oh yes truly a reasonable explanation justifing the creation of two totally different genders...I would not want to live without a woman's touch...James

The best thing about being a man to me is that I enjoy the touch and the compassion of a woman.  True to me is that the woman holds the most power of all just in the complexity of emotions and heart.  Lovely read.

Likewise, in that I mean I wouldn't want to live without the strength and 'protection' that a man offers.

Thank you, James.  ...chanson~

I agree Mark. I think the woman is the softer and more compassionate of the genders.
