Simple Answers

I’ve often wondered how it is
That winter seems “the end”
But somehow all that died of cold
Comes back to life again

I’ve often pondered why it is
That creatures big and small
Know their place, their time
And their due purpose in it all

Perhaps its our intelligence
That somehow interferes
And delves so deeply into thought
That vision disappears

Perhaps the hardest questions
Were the simplest all along
The truth of life eternal
Might be in a sparrow’s song

But we can’t see simplicity
Our minds are cluttered troughs
Of theories of life’s ending
Far removed from simple thoughts

And so I sit and ponder
How the withered stem survived
And how the frozen dogwood
In the springtime was revived

Pondering Liz has set me musing...searching deep within... and she says they are simple answers... if only they were simpler than the questions...

WONDERFUL POEM...

regards,
sudhir

Elizabeth,
I agree with Sudhir, but I think you are right the answer is simple but I'm too simple to find it. Love Sy
PS. Or perhaps I don't want to recognize it?

Liz another mind grabber. I've often thought of these things myself. I've often said sometimes we get so complex in our thinking, we totally overlook the very simple. In turn we completely overlook the answers that were so simple to see.

I love it

Liz---love all your deep thought and the beauty of the poetry it produces.

In the dew of little things,
the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.

Liz---now what did you go and do that for?  I was finding life so easy today and then you come along and give me a universe of thoughts to toy with.lol....so beautiful of a write and so full of the human nature of simplicity overdone.  Loved it much my friend.

I found this in your treasure chest, and what a wonderful poem to ponder, especially right now, as we seem to need some simplicity in our lives right now don't we?  I loved this one.
