Rumors I heard the other day from a friend Of a friend who knows a friend No names……. You know about whats her name And that guy, the cute one! Well you know whats going on With them don’t you…… No way, how do you know. I heard it from a good source…. Oh my gawd! I gotta call my friend! In Poet land, Assumptions so often fuel that fan, 500 minds, dissecting every line, so often wrong most of the time. Only the poet knows for sure, And she ain’t telling…… No kiss and tell here folks, But look at that post, He’s got a secret I know, Gossip, gossip, gossip, The circle has begun Everybody come indulge in the fun. Tragedy, romance, love, Its very sad, so sad, Ahh, Sheriee, where have you been, In the night, are you the one I dream of, The words of life we weave, Interpretations, fiction, surreal, Hey whats going on here, Whats the real deal….. I know! And I’m not telling, Na na nana na. Rumors Rumors Rumors, I’ll tell her a secret, She’ll tell it to, A brand new meaning, When it reaches you. Ah, but I like this better, A little tweak here, A little tweak there, All that impromTOE flair, (did you read that its about Toe) ka-ching….. hot off the rumor mill presses get yours now, before the story changes. pssst... did you hear about Lorelei and Deer.. don't tell Long John... shhhhhh and Sigmund Freud is really Justin Sane... and Menage Numero Trois is sending me secret french messages... something about my Oubliez or so I've heard..... most rumors at passions are spread by Long John and Balladeer.. or so I've heard from Local Rebel... Any rumors you’ve heard about me, Have been greatly exaggerated, Except the part about the size of my cowboy hat………. "Seems we're a hot item too, we wrote a poem together and had some laughs. Now I reckon we're running off to get married. Dang I wish he'd asked me first". ROTF....Parker this is a beauty and may I just say thank you for writing it. you've got to be kidding!! WOW! a gossip circle of a family of friends???? how incestuous!  seriously, though, one thing is certain... if you don't listen to it, you can't hear it... i used to have a co-worker who tried to talk to me about other people in the office repeatedly.... i would change the subject, but she kept right on.... eventually, i said to her, "I often wonder what you say behind my back when i'm not here. Please don't try to relay anybody elses business to me again because not only am i not interested, but i actually have work to do." This stopped her in her tracks. I have two MAJOR pet peaves in life.... (1) people who talk about other people behind their backs and (2) phoneys/frauds. Sometimes people have both traits. If you see yourself in this message, do me a favor... don't email me, don't call me, and take care because one day it all comes back to you. Well written poem, Parker. ~ all you can really ever expect out of life is a good apology and some decent poetry ~ |
