Can I Tell you a Secret?

Can I tell you a secret?
whisper it against the sweet curve
of your flowered ear,
light it with the power of my breath,
it is a love song
you know,
it is blues
it is the opera of my heart.

Do you want to hear?
Can you listen to this wind
that tortures the bluff
and blows the surf across reflection?
It is hungry for a lusting ear
it is a fruit filled ambrosia.

Your listening has music
that fills me,
the quiet ear sings so sweet
with eyes like trumpets
and breath, curved violin,
you finger my rhythm guitar
as you slide towards my lips.

Can I tell you a secret?
Do you want to hear?
You must listen or the sound
just falls beneath the microphone
into the orchestra pit

and I will never play this song again.

I'll say 2 things:
#1 "Your listening has music
that fills me,
the quiet ear sings so sweet
with eyes like trumpets
and breath, curved violin,
you finger my rhythm guitar
as you slide towards my lips."
is a verse I now find engraved on my memory.
#2 - I've learned in my years: Never say never~S~ -

absolutely fabulous piece Martie - your poetry always thrills me

Where's that publisher when we need him?
Oh, Martie, haven't you got the picture yet?
These words should be in print in your own collection of poetry. I keep telling you that and I hope one day soon it will happen.Your genius for involving the reader in a situation should be experienced by many.
Love ya

and blows the surf across reflection?" An extraordinary vision this paints in my mind. Wondrous work, Martie!  You have a great talent.

The wonder of this piece whispered "loudly" to me as I read, Martie. Just lovely, this.
