Listening to every heart

Not Looking

I did not look for you
didn’t even see you coming
don’t want mysteries in my life
too old for upsets

didn’t see you coming, love,
didn’t look for you
can’t take chances any more
ancient’s my middle name

didn’t even look around
and there you were in my life
and here we need anonymity
too aged for passion anymore

but here you are in my life
see this man’s heart sing
I want to rest in obscurity
and not feel that old love’s sting

I did not look for you
didn’t see you coming, love,
didn’t even look around
but here you are in my life

fate…so be it

Can't fight fate, Sunshine....and one's never too old for passion....it's never too late to let the Sunshine in

How accurate a portrayal of the way a new friendship or love sneaks right up on us. Whether we expect it or even want it, there it is. And now we have to make it a good thing. Good luck, and much happiness.

Sometimes, it's right in front of you my friend. . . sometimes it is. . . and you're never too old for romance as Balladeer says . . . it lives forever. . .

Wonderful poem. . .

Fate does so have a way of sneaking in just when we decide we aren't looking.  As always, love your style.

Why, 'Deer....

Cat [still think I would've picked this name had I thought of it...love it] dear, here's a clue...don't take everything literally...hugs, Sunshine...

Why, Sven....

Susan, hugs right back at you...

thank you all!

I can't say I wasn't looking-
But I will say I was unprepared.
I can't say a simple e-mail would start me thinking -
  But it came unsolicited.
I can't say I wanted to slip,
And begin to lose control
  But I did
And I too am too old ~G~
(by your standards anyhow   )
  But the slope is slippery
Welcome to the club

~Love one human being purely and warmly, and you will love all. The heart in this heaven, like the sun in its course, sees nothing from the dew drop to the ocean, but a mirror which it brightens, and warms and fills.

Is it not ironic?
Desperate souls searching for company end up being alone ...
And the ones who don't look keep having all the companions ...

... maybe it's not fate but something called "Charm"...

btw- who doesn't want sunshine?

wonderful work, Karilea
regards,
sudhir

Mr. Yeats - temptation a cruel mistress...common sense can keep one warm,
tread carefully through the trenches
refrain from your heart any harm...

and soon enough, that slope will be a conquerable mountain...

Sudhir, why, anyday I can spread this tiresome smile around...[tiresome to only some...] I'll do it!
