         On the way

I've dwelled upon relationships
Of those within my diadem.
On my vanity and the pain
The salt and pepper dusting them.

I've thought upon those inner prods
And the terrors and the tolls.
Judging my best those constant drives
And the tortures and controls?

I've analyzed the lovely rose
The hazards of the thorns and stem.
The wondrous beauty of the bud
The dangers of collecting them.

I've pondered female parallels
Their lovely forms and altered states.
Swam the swirling impasse eddies
Over come their inebriate.

Still I have pricked a thorn or two
And bloodied often in the coup.

Your imagery has me smiling today...bloodied though you be, your soul sings to me...

Another gem, my friend
You must know that all roses have thorns, byt sometimes you can remove them
This is a lovely poem

Sunshine,
I'm glad I sing to someone.

Elizabeth,
You and Sunshine are the only two who responded I guess nobody loves me anymore.

"I've analyzed the lovely rose

oh yes, Mr. Sy... i still love ya!!! this is really well done... the stanza above is wonderfully spoken... i have always said that a rose is the perfect picture of Romantic Love.... it looks so beautiful you have to have it... the petals are soft, silky, reflecting light and the scent is absolutely so alluring that you cannot help but partake again and again and again...

and...

if you touch the petals too harshly, they  turn brown and die too quickly, falling off before their time... the thorns will stab you and bring blood, no matter how delicately you try to pick it up and hold it from it's stem... eventually (actually, pretty darn quickly), the head droops and the darn thing dies... petals are all over the floor and you have to vaccuum or sweep them up and toss them into a brown paper back to be taken out to the trash barrel... and still there's the stem... and you have to get rid of that, too, and when you get close enough to pick it up, the thorns still stab and cut and bleed you...

call me a cynic... so what? LOL... what's wrong with a sardonic sense of humor anyway? hehe...

seriously, though, my love for this poem (and you) is much more substantial and long lasting than my analogy...
forgive me for having a little fun with words... thanks for a GREAT read!!!

uh, Sy, I'm not positive I can go so far as to say I love you because LongJohn or Toe may be lurking around looking for ammo but I can certainly say I love the way you turn a phrase...will that do for now???

and I certainly like this one....
