she sits at the
     loom of her mind

pulls out her pen
     the needle
          that she uses to
          weave her tales
          of love
     using the thread of life

she stiches into the cloth
     of time the most delicate
     patterns
                  each one more amazing
                  than the next

and just when I don't know how
     much more I can stand
     in that amazement

                            she turns the tapestry over
and shows me all the work
                                 that went into it
                            stitches not only of love
                                      but of pain
                                      of heartache and heartbreak
                                      of good times and bad

what's this part here?
I ask, pointing to a dark spot
she tells me that it's the time
she began a new spool that didn't come out

it's full of these spots
     light and dark
     the loves of her life

I note that the closer I get to
                   the top
                 the threads seem brighter
         why is that?
              I ask

she tells me to wait

one cold night, she went to bring it
                  to me
and as I wrapped it around us,
                  I saw
     woven into the fabric
             my face

the threads of her love showing me
            her heart

and I could feel her love
     warming me and making me
                   believe
                         in
                           love
                               again. . .
this is what happens
       when she weaves
                      the fabric
                                of romance. . .

OK Sven, get an 800 number so we can ALL hear you read it to every one of us...

and in absence of your voice...my own imagination tells me this is a work of art...and has been marked in MY library so that when book 2 comes along, this will surely be among the best of the best...ever!

Talk about someone outdoing even himself!

Sven....
I had to stop by and read this for several reasons. First of all, I love every poem you write, secondly: my maiden name is Weaver, and thirdly: this is my 1300th post, my lucky number is 13, and your work is like magic to my eyes!! So.....you have made this post special with your beautiful work!!!
        Thank you, my good friend...

oh wow! This one truly took my breath away...so unlike anything I have read of yours...magical words you have woven yourself Sven.

Sven, your inspiration for this piece must be a very special person...as is this uniquely beautiful creation. So very lovely, this, my friend...
